Founded by two brothers in high school, Math2Empower is a Charlotte-based 501(c)3 nonprofit that aims to promote math literacy and increase math motivation in the hopes of decreasing national high school dropout rates, mainly caused by students failing Algebra I.
Attending middle and high school in Arizona before moving to North Carolina, we were exposed to a state public education system that ranks almost last in the United States. We saw firsthand the devastatingly high state dropout rates and eventually realized that Arizona isn't alone. Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado, among other states, suffer from the lowest graduation rates in the country. This led us to create Math2Empower. Our focus is to bridge gaps in algebra knowledge in order to decrease national dropout rates in high school. |
